Her Story: Found stray in South East London in neglected and starving condition.

Salient points:
Young lurcher with puppy type instincts to relationships. Food has a very precious value to her need careful management. Needs aware forgiving family to give her time to settle and management strategy. No children or regular visiting children. Hasnt got bite inhibition but usually her bites are just hard mouthing with the exception of once o a hand that came over to her food bowl. Coming back into kennels in Gatwick currently with her adoptive family in Norfolk but household proved too busy.

Advert: Jess is a wonderful lurcher with larger paws giving a Shepherd feel in with her breeding mix. She delights in everything that is offered to her and truly appreciates kindness and inclusion. Jess was found stray and in a sad state for a young dog. She had been starved and was food hungry and remained so. She needs 4 meals ago to take the edge of food searching. Her instincts are play with others she wants contact but nivice. Doesnt cope well with the 'behind bars' of kennel life. Very keen in her focus and awareness of all around her. Enjoys stimulation, loads of acknowledgement and fuss. Not for cats or small furries.

Jess is a beautiful dog. She is our saddest dogs currently so obviously having had a dark past. She loves company. She needs an aware home who can accept her 'rawness' of behaviours as she attempts to please without having a full repertoire of skills yet to back it up. She can catch with her teeth if deflected from her intent pursuit or if rushed and handled without due sensitiveness or negotiation. She treats humans as she would She is improving all the time as she learns our intentions are loving kindness. However this means Jess needs to live with a family who can accept her 'rawness' of reactions and give her time and forgiveness whilst her rawness moves into trusty and respect.  She adores her walks and walks nicely, meets dogs well. Housetraining has been achieved in her current home. She is a truly wonderful dog in the making but will take time. She needs sensitivity to see her signs a look in the eyes; a raising of a lip. A real rescue dog that deserves the work she needs.
